Hillside New Tech High School is a new, small, STEM high school located in Durham, North Carolina (STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) was established before the 2007-2008 school year. Hillside New Tech is designed to offer a break from the traditional high school experience. New Tech offers a one-to-one computer-to-student ratio, Project-Based Learning, and a small school environment designed to build strong working relationships with teachers and fellow students. We are dedicated to having our students understand how educational content relates to real-world experiences, making sure that students have access to technologies they will experience in college and work, and teaching them the 21st century skills as laid out by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. |

Affiliations
Hillside New Tech is affiliated with the New Technology Network of Napa, California and the North Carolina New Schools Project. New Tech is also proud of its partnerships Nortel Networks and Credit Suisse who provide job shadowing opportunities for our students. Our partnership with NC State University on a grant from the National Science Foundation will begin in the spring of 2009, when students will work with college students to create video games that disseminate college research.
